A group of employees from a small company has often been doing spontaneous charity activities for a long time (see group charities here)


Charity Fund of Ho Chi Minh City
In order to do more, this group has applied to establish a charity fund operating in accordance with the law. The charity fund was approved by the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City under Decision No. 2267 / QD-UBND dated May 5, 2012 with the official name as the Charity Fund of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Fund had an initial capital contribution of 500 million VND, operating in the following areas: medical assistance, low-cost assistance providing cheap meals and helping the poor within Ho Chi Minh City.


With many projects in medical assistance and assistance to the poor, as of January 2018, Charity Fund has assisted 357 cases with the total amount of 3,249,042,500 VND. Medical project with major programs: the Truancy Prevention Hospitalization program, the Pain Relief program and the Don’t Despair program.


With the project of supporting cheap meals, the Fund has cooperated with partners to establish 6 Nu Cuoi (Smile) eating houses with the model of selling cheap meals at 2,000 VND and 1,000 VND dishes together in HCMC. Opening of the first Smile social eating house in October 2012, and to March 2013, the second one was established. Followed by the 3rd eating house in May 2013, 4th one in September 2013, 6th one in October 2013 and 7th one established in November 2015. By December 2017, the chain of Smile eating house reached 2 million cheap meals sold since 2012.


Lotus Charity Foundation
In order to expand operations nationwide, this charity group has applied for permission to expand nationwide with an initial capital contribution of 5 billion VND to establish a Lotus Charity Fundation. Lotus Charity Fund is a private charity fund established under Decision No. 24 / QD-BNV licensed by the Ministry of Home Affairs dated January 5, 2018 and Decision recognizing the Fund is eligible to operate and accredit the Association. Fund Co-Manager No. 745 / QD-BNV issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on May 3, 2018. The Lotus Charity Foundation is an extended version of the Charity Fund of Ho Chi Minh City nationwide, starting operating from July 2018.
